ApoThera is adding real-time after-hours (overnight, weekends, holidays) remote order entry and verification for hospitals to our current list of clinical pharmacy services. An ApoThera telepharmacist ensures that patients' medications are the most appropriate, identify, resolve and prevent medication related problems that may interfere with the goals of therapy.
Our goal is to improve the quality of patient care and eliminate medication errors.
WE DO NOT FILL PRESCRIPTIONS AS ANY PART OF THIS SERVICE.

Pharmaceutical Consultation for Microsoft HealthVault™ Users & Cancer Patients
the combination of prescription with non-prescription drugs (herbals and over-the-counter) for harmful interactions. consultant pharmacist
Comprehensive evaluation for correct dosage, potential harmful side-effects and contraindications.
Drug Utilization Review (DUR) for potential duplication of therapies and decreasing complications caused by misuse of medications.
Drug Identification for patients.
Offering expert advice about changing drug therapy to the prescriber that will reduce the medication costs by:
a) changing a brand name medication to a generic.
b) changing from a brand name to a similar but less expensive brand name or generic.
c) discontinuing medications or reducing doses when appropriate.
Cost:  This service is available to Microsoft HealthVault™ users and cancer patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington & Wyoming for a fee of 199 dollars per consult.

Connect with your team via a secured network to accept, review and enter orders. Our telepharmacists are experienced and proficient with the following Medication Order Management Systems, Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and softwares: Rxe-View, Pyxis Connect, CPSI, WORx, EPIC, Siemens, Meditech, HMS, Docutrak, AS/400, Paragon, Amigo, and QS1. We also evaluate orders for appropriateness of drug, pediatric dosing, geriatric dosing, renal dosing, pharmacokinetics, therapeutic interchange, potential interactions, route of adminstration and stability. We offer a standardized response time of less than 15 minutes for order entry.
Cost:  May choose from one of the following competitive and flexible plans: a) An Hourly Rate b) Fee-For-Service (FFS) per Order Entry c) Flat Monthly Rate.

Are ApoThera pharmaceutical consultations covered by insurance?
No, ApoThera is unable to file a claim for pharmaceutical consultation services with insurance company including Medicare. A receipt for services rendered is provided by ApoThera, and e-mailed to you approximately 3 days following the completion of the consultation. The receipt may be used by you should your seek reimbursement from an employer-sponsored medical saving account.

Can I check on the status of my pharmaceutical consultation request?
You will be notified via e-mail when your pharmaceutical consultation is ready. Then, you may log on to your HealthVault account and read the written consult.

Is the ApoThera pharmaceutical consultation available in every state?
We offer consults to patients whose mailing address is in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington and Wyoming.
